General Questions
Writing Someone for the First Time

Whether you're interested in writing someone for the first time, submitting a profile, or simply learning more about our program, you'll find answers to many of the most common questions below.

What should I write about?
Introduce yourself, share your interests, ask questions, and be yourself.
What if I don't know what to say?
Start with simple topics such as hobbies, favorite books, music, family traditions, goals, or everyday life.
Do I have to commit to a long-term correspondence?
No. Every correspondence is different. Some people exchange only a few letters, while others build friendships that last for years. There is no expectation or obligation to continue writing beyond what feels right for you.
How long does it take for a profile to be published?
We review all submissions before publication. Processing times may vary, but we will make every effort to post approved profiles as quickly as possible.
Is my profile guaranteed to receive letters?
While we hope every profile receives correspondence, we cannot guarantee that any individual profile will receive letters. Waiting for Thursday is still growing, and it may take time for the program to reach a wider audience. As more people learn about our mission and join our community, we believe more profiles will be seen and more meaningful connections will be made.
If your profile has been active for an extended period of time and you have not received any correspondence, please contact us. While we cannot guarantee results, we will do our best to help increase visibility by featuring your profile on our social media pages and highlighting it to our community of supporters.
Every letter begins with one person deciding to reach out, and we are committed to helping create those opportunities whenever we can.
